Show Proposals
32nd Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire
January 27-28 & February 2-4, 2018
The show theme for 2018 has been selected by the city and the Director's Committee is now looking for proposing directors and their teams. The theme this year will be based on Robin Hood and the Merry Men.
The Protagonist must be:
Robin Hood
Much the Miller's son cannot be included in the character list
The date and time for proposal presentations is May 6th from 1PM until 4PM. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 23rd, with an optional first draft due on April 16th for review. This draft will provide proposing teams the chance to hear feedback about the show plans before presenting.
This year the Director's Committee is encouraging groups that may want to participate in future production teams to make a practice presentation. These teams would go through the process of presenting without actually being in the running for Hoggetowne. If practicing, your theme and show do not have to match this year's parameters, but should probably match something the Guilde would do someday (Robin Hood, King Arthur, historical). If you intend to propose, please notify the DC Chair by April 23rd.
The required workshops will be scheduled.
If you are unable to attend the workshops, please notify the Director's Committee.
Once again, the important dates:
April 16th: Optional First Draft due to Board for review and feedback
April 23rd: Final Drafts due and Notice of Intent to Propose or Practice
May 6th: Proposal Presentations
To see an example of a show proposal, view the requirements of directing a show, or examine a petition proposal form, see below. To petition one or more of the requirements of directing, the petition proposal form is required. Note: One form is needed for each item being petitioned.
